Being The Executor Of Someones Will

Being an executor is a huge responsibility, that I did not realise at the time of being asked.
Mainly it is lots of letters, phone calls and emails, but also visits to the bank.

You need to be an excellent organiser and ideally know how to make spreadsheets too.
There's so much to do: Gather all monies, pay debtors, claim credits, sell possessions, empty homes, clean, tidy, possibly paint.

So much to do in so little time.

On top of that, you may need to deal with grief. Dependant on who asked you to be their executor. Most likely you know them well otherwise they would not have asked you. That makes it so much harder.

How do yo do this important role and grieve? How do you live your own life and deal with it all? It's hard! You get through it. But don't accept the job without thinking it through. It is hard!

I would say it has helped me grieve too, but I also dread the work. It feels like letting go when Im just not ready.
