My Mentoring Journey

I have mentored many people throughout my career, helping lots of newbies into the family.
I would always do this as part of my job, either as a specifically assigned Mentor, or mostly as a Team Leader.

However these days, I am shying away from these kinds of roles in my career, and so I want to be able to continue helping people into the industry in my own time.

Some ideas I have to aid this:

  • Write posts on this site
  • Participate in #TechTwitter
  • Present at Tech Meetups (There are so many to mention here, but I follow loads on Twitter and you can always find more at the .NET Foundation)
  • Become a developer advocate at a public facing software company
  • Become a Microsoft Valued Professional (MVP)
  • Signup to sites that allow you to advertise to mentor people. e.g. Coding Coach

Can you help me?

I'm looking for someone to mentor!

I have over 20 years of experience building software, and over 15 years leading teams and mentoring people.
